KENWORTH Trucks History

Today Kenworth is the fourth largest truck manufacturer in m buses in the US. In addition, this brand is the largest in America, the manufacturer of dump trucks, part of a large concern PACCAR

This company was organized in 1923 in Kirkland, where it is located today. Kenworth immediately started manufacturing trucks after its founding.

At the beginning of the forties, a truck with a high cross-country capacity, whose wheel formula was 6x6, was first created. It was he who set the direction for the development of other machines of this type after the war. The very name Kenworth came from a shortening of the names of the founders - Kent and Worthington.

After Frederick Kent stepped out of business and transferred his rights to his son, the company manages to conclude a series of profitable contracts, so that by 1922 the capital of the company was 60 thousand dollars. This entails restructuring, so the company gets its new name Ken - Worth, and a year later several new brand offices are opened.
