ASTRA Truck History
The history of the Italian car manufacturing begins in 1946, since then Astra has accumulated its experience in producing unpretentious and reliable dump trucks (for example, VM1 - a two-axle all-wheel drive dumper) for the European market and the Italian army. The military has attracted the endurance and unique durability of the truck chassis. On Astra trucks, the thickness of the spars was 12 mm.
A few years later, Astra became part of the IVECO concern. The company managed to win the market among articulated and quarry dump trucks in just a few years with a maximum load capacity of 50 tons.
Today Astra is deservedly considered the world leader among suppliers of reliable and high-performance heavy vehicles. Now Astra produces, in general, more than 200 models of special equipment, developing their own know-how, and successfully implements them.
The special design of ASTRA trucks is designed for operation in extremely difficult conditions, where stability, torque, reliability, power become the determining factors. It is proved that neither the ice of Siberia nor the roads of Africa can stop the safe and high-performance Astra trucks. Tens of thousands of Astra cars participate in the construction of the most ambitious projects around the world.
