Bomag History
BOMAG (German Bopparder Maschinenbaugesellschaft) is a German company founded in 1957 in the city of Boppard. In the same year, the company launches the first two-roll bomber BOMAG BW 60 with a drive on all rims. This has revolutionized the technique of compaction.
After 5 years in 1962, after the first hand-rolled skating rink, the company develops a self-propelled 7-ton BOMAG road roller designed for large construction projects - a double-roller BOMAG BW 200. At that time, this technique provided unprecedented sealing performance.
From 1961 to 1978, BOMAG branches opened in Austria, Japan, England, Canada, France and the USA, which provided BOMAG sales and rental services.
The American company KOEHRING in 1970 acquired BOMAG.
From 1972 to 1974, the range of manufactured products is expanding due to light double-rollers BOMAG, ground rollers, slabs and tampers BOMAG.
In 1976 the company is expanding: a new research and development center is created, the only one of its kind in the world so far.
In 1988, the company introduced a 28-ton garbage compactor with a hydrostatic drive BOMAG BC 601 RB.
1996 was marked in the history of the company by the appearance of a system for automatic control of sealing performance in one VARIOMATIC - the first in the world. In 1998, the company celebrates its 40th anniversary and is expanding the production of a new powder painting machine.
In the period from 1998 to 1999, BOMAG adjusts the proven VARIOMATIC system as a VARIOCONTROL system specifically for the requirements of ground rollers. A VARIOMATIC 2 - an advanced system VARIOMATIC for asphalt compactors with separate rims - began to be introduced in production in 2000.
In 2001, the company presents ASPHALT MANAGERS - a system for optimal compaction and simultaneous control of asphalt compaction.
Since 1969, the headquarters of the company is in Hellerwald, Germany. The company is managed by the Fayat group. BOMAG owns 10 subsidiaries around the world, 500 dealers in 120 countries worldwide offer the sale of BOMAG.
BOMAG produces tracked and wheeled asphalt pavers, smooth-roll, combined and pneumatic wheel rollers, ground rollers, hand rollers with foot operator, soil stabilizers, recyclers, direct-motion vibroplates, vibrating rams and reversible vibroplates.
