DRESSTA Brand History
Construction machinery under the Dressta brand is produced in Poland, at the Huta Stalowa Wola plant.
In the early 1970s, the machine-building plant Huta Stalowa Wola began actively looking for a partner to establish crawler bulldozers in its areas. The license agreement was signed with the American company International Harvester, which allowed starting in 1973 the production of tracked bulldozers and crawler front loaders, and a few years later - and wheel loaders.
In the early 1980s, International Harvester sold its division of construction machinery to Dresser inc. (USA). Since that time caterpillar bulldozers and Huta Stalowa Wola loaders have been manufactured under the brand name Dresser. In 1995, the joint venture Dresser-Stalowa Wola was registered.
At the same time Dresser and Komatsu organize a joint venture Komatsu Dresser. By 1996, Dresser sold its part in the joint business of Komatsu. From this time on, Komatsu America International begins its work. Thus, to date, Dressta is a joint venture between Komatsu America International and Huta Stalowa Wola.
The change in the brand from Dresser to Dressta that occurred in 1999 did not entail changes in the machines, their origin, did not affect the quality of the components. The company selling cars has not changed, there have been no changes in the sales policy. Over the past 10 years, Dressta constantly sells products denoted by its trademark. The head office and headquarters of the company is located in the city of Staleva Wola.
From 1973 to 2003, Huta Stalowa Wola produced 13,000 crawler bulldozers, more than 20,000 L-34 front wheel loaders (about 15,000 were delivered to the USSR and CIS countries). From 1992 to 2003, more than 1,800 International Harvester-Dresser licensed loaders (1300 units sold in the US) were produced.
The crisis of 2008-2009 did not pass and today the Polish enterprise passed under the control of the Chinese industrial group LiuGong.
Today, in the product line offered by Dressta Co., a trade and marketing company. Ltd., - 9 basic models of crawler bulldozers with a capacity of 74-520 hp, 7 models of wheel loaders with a capacity of 103-415 hp, one model of a crawler loader, 3 models of pipelayers with a lifting capacity of 33.3-100 tons, two compactors, 3 models of crawler bulldozers.
